Home Sweet Home.

Source
I'm back from dropping off Connor at school and, may I just say:  The roads are frightful.  There's only about 1/2 an inch of snow, but it's so slippery!  I hope things thaw out a bit before it's time for him to come home.

My house is quiet this morning.  The Christmas tree lights are on.  I keep them on almost all the time because I don't think there is anything sadder than a dark Christmas tree and I don't think there is anything cheerier than a lit one!

I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee this morning.  It's medicinal, self-prescribed for this sore throat of mine.  I went to urgent care on Sunday to learn that I have an ear infection, sinus infection, and bronchitis.  I'm on my second round of antibiotics in two months and after two days, I'm not feeling a whole lot better.  Three more to go...

I'm trying to find the energy to grade student projects.  I'm trying to find the energy to make meals for my family.  I'm trying to find the energy to clean out our garage so that I can park my car inside.  All I really want to do is lay on the couch watching movies...

All in all, I'm just really glad that I am able to be at home, toasty cozy in our little house.  I am very lucky to have this quiet time and I'm absolutely grateful for it.  I hope that all of you have a wonderful day.  I'm off to visit my couch now.  : )

P.S.  Thank you for the sweet comments left for my last post.  I'm sorry that I haven't thanked each of you personally.  I'm not getting a whole lot done right now, but please know that I really appreciated your thoughtfulness!

  1. I am just getting over stupid bronchitis too. I tried to just go the antibiotic route, but that steroid ended up helping the most. I hope you're feeling much better soon.

  2. Thank you Michelle! I'm sorry to hear that you've had the stupid bronchitis too. It's my second time this year and I'm done now. :)

  3. I have a sick daughter this a.m. too. She came home early from school yesterday. So far it's just a bad cold...hopefully no bronchitis. Ugh. I am feeling very thankful this morning as well, as my hubby heads out the door in coveralls, boots and hat, that I am able to stay home in the cozy warmth by our lit tree :) I hope you have your energy back soon. What a bad time of year to lose it :,(
